BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Board of Directors meets once a month, usually the second Tuesday, starting at 6:30 p.m., and usually at the CCSS Administration Building, 1908 Boggs Creek Road, Jefferson City, MO 65101, telephone 573-634-4555.
Each board member is assigned to at least one committee which usually necessitates a 1 to 2 hour meeting, six times a year.
Board members are appointed by the Cole County Commission for three-year terms. Each March 1, three board members are up for reappointment or replacement.
Board members are responsible for deciding how to spend the county property tax collected for services for Cole County citizens with developmental disabilities.
Two of the nine board members must be related in the third degree by blood or marriage to a person with a developmental disability.
